Parametric Quantized Iterative Hard Thresholding for SAR Moving Target Refocusing Based on Low-Bit-Rate Quantized Data

In this paper, we propose a parametric quantized iterative hard thresholding (PQIHT) algorithm for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) refocusing of moving targets based on low-bit-rate quantized data. The quantized iterative hard thresholding (QIHT) algorithm is combined with the parametric sparse representation (PSR) to iteratively refocus the blurred images of moving targets in a SAR image. Compared with the conventional PSR method based on purely precise data, the proposed PQIHT algorithm operating on low-bit-rate quantized data takes into consideration of the quantization-induced error, and can produce comparable quality of refocused images of moving targets with much less data amount. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can satisfactorily focus moving target images with low-bit-rate and even 1-bit quantized echo data.
