The need and interest of utilities in the planning, calculating, inviting to tender, contracting and accounting of construction work by EDP-aided systems has strongly increased in recent years. Consequently the AGFW has addressed this topic under the auspices of a joint project and has prepared standardized requirement specifications on the basis of which a market survey of leading systems was carried out. Initially a project team, comprising 10 member organizations, prepared a detailed requirement catalogue containing the typical system keynotes of a construction work system (managing specifications, determining quantities, calculating, inviting to tender, awarding order, accounting, controlling, statistics). This also covers function and activity definitions as well as the portrayal of time and organizational relationships. In preparing the data model special attention was given to compatibility with the AGFW data model for the documentation of pipeline networks. In this connection care must be given to the management of specifications to ensure a standardized database with the network documentation. The market survey, carried out following definition of all criteria relevant for a construction work system and in which the ca. 20 leading systems were integrated, provided the required transparency. The product Gefall 6.0 of the firm GEF GmbH, Leimen, not only showed the best functionality, but offered moreover the possibility of realizing the AGFW framework concept (standard database, compatible data models, standard user interfaces etc.). Therefore the AGFW has decided to enter into a corporation agreement with the firm GEF GmbH and to offer the system of GEF GmbH to member companies as an association product under the new name »Sisava«...annick...At the AGFW seminar »Marketing in the District Heating Industry«, held in Dresden in November 1994, a strategic marketing concept was presented for a district heating utility of a small Thuringian town. The concept was prepared and implemented by the agency Promarc as external provider. Promarc stands for promotion, marketing and consulting. Promarc is an agency working the field of advertising and public relations. Keynote of activities are the topics architecture, technology, energy and environment technologies. The client list includes communities and communal utilities as well as companies from industry and trade. A further new field of activity is full service in the area of technical documentation. Marketing concepts are prepared specifically for district heat utilities in the new federal states, because here great demand for marketing activities has been established. From the projects already implemented one is outlined below. The name of the town is not disclosed, because with its potentials and difficulties it may be regarded as typical for many similar towns. Although the theoretical aspects cannot be completely excluded, the main emphasis lies on the technological and organizational implementation
