This title provides an overview of the use and the applications of supercomputers and parallel architectures for engineering purposes. Topics covered include: viscoelastic finite element analysis performance on coarse grained and massively parallel supercomputers; time-parallelism for massively parallel solution of parabolic PDEs; costs and benefits of parallelizing efficient sequential codes; parallelization with a real-world CFD application on different parallel architectures; a comparison of computational efficiency and accuracy of two algorithms for solving convective heat transfer on supercomputers; parallel methods for the solution of two- and three-dimensional partial differential equations; a multiblock technique for integrated grid generation and viscous flow simulation using the Navier-Stokes code NSFLEX; and domain decomposition algorithms on parallel computers.
