PRIVACY AND ELECTRONIC CLEARANCE SYSTEMS

There is a growing realization of the need to address privacy and confidentiality in electronic clearance systems. These systems offer increased convenience and efficiency to truckers and to government agencies responsible for motor carrier administration. It has become apparent that privacy and confidentiality are important matters, that they must be explicitly anticipated, and that their resolution must be broadly based and accomplished early in the planning process. This article is intended to help build awareness of privacy and confidentiality so that they can be successfully anticipated and resolved.
