An improved dc-link voltage control for a three-phase PWM rectifier using an adaptive PI controller combined with load current estimation

This paper presents a dc-link voltage control for a three-phase PWM rectifier that combines an adaptive PI controller with a feed-forward of the load current which is estimated through a Luenberger observer. A systematic design approach is presented for the adjustment of the adaptive PI and the observer gains. Several simulation and experimental results are presented and discussed in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed dc-link voltage controller compared to the standard one.
