A Low-Profile Beam-Scanning Continuous Transverse Stub Array Based on SIW Technology

A low-profile continuous transverse stub (CTS) array antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) is presented for beam-scanning. This array is comprised by 8-element CTS antenna excited with quasi-TEM wave. The overall height of array structure is as thin as 0.38λ0. A good beam-scanning capability of 60deg is achieved by changing the angle between SIW-CTS array and quasi-TEM wave, and the gain is larger than 18 dB within scanning range from 34.175 GHz to 35.875 GHz.
