Error concealment algorithm for HEVC coded video using block partition decisions

In this paper, we propose an error concealment algorithm that considers the partition decision information from previous frame, to improve a widely used algorithm that extrapolates the motion vectors from previous frame. The result shows that objectively and subjectively, the proposed method can perform better. Also, the improvement of our method is larger in HEVC video than in AVC video, due to larger partition decision space in HEVC to account for more various sizes of moving objects in a frame.
