The features of stability in longitudinal power system and strategy

The features of stability in longitudinal power systems are studied. A severe fault in the Hebei Southern Power System (China) on 15 Jan. 1992 is described and analyzed. Asynchronous operation between some generators in longitudinal power systems may cause a loss of synchronism between other generators. The simulation results of an electric power system dynamic simulation laboratory are presented.
