Application of electromagnetic transient software PSCAD/EMTDC and its prospects

With the advantages of graphical programming interface,precise component model,stable numerical calculus theory,and convenient user interface,PSCAD/EMTDC is considered as an excellent electromagnetic transient simulation software which is widely used in the world.The implementation procedure of the software is presented,and its application to the power system currently as well as in long-term dynamic simulation and hybrid simulation of the AC-DC integrated power grids in the future is summarized.
