Solving Scattering by Multilayer Dielectric Objects Using JMCFIE-DDM-MLFMA

In this letter, a hybrid approach combining nonconformal, nonoverlapping domain decomposition method (DDM) and electric/magnetic current combined-field integral equation (JMCFIE) is presented to solve scattering problems of three-dimensional multilayer dielectric objects. The original structure can be decomposed into some closed subdomains according to material distribution, and JMCFIE is formulated in each subdomain. The major ingredients in the proposed approach are the use of the Robin-type transmission conditions (TCs) and nonconformal, nonoverlapping domain partitioning, which remarkably increases the flexibility of mesh discretization and enhances the efficiency of solution. The multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is also applied to realize fast computation of matrix-vector product. Finally, some numerical results are given to demonstrate the validity of the JMCFIE-DDM-MLFMA.
