A three-dimensional weighted median predictor for television

A novel nonlinear predictor based on weighted median filters is presented. The prediction is a median of three weighted median predictors. Experimental results show the validity of the weighted median predictors. Upon comparing the performance of the weighted median predictors with the nonlinear predictors and the linear predictor, the authors found that the weighted median predictors perform best.<<ETX>>
