Hybrid wind photovoltaic standalone system

The present work demonstrates system for wind-PV hybrid standalone energy system with battery backup. The operation of proposed hybrid system is tested with different DC loads. Battery is connected to a DC bus via simple bidirectional DC-DC converter for maintaining charge of the battery, charging/discharging of the battery and DC link voltage. The hybrid system comprises of solar PV (3.6kW), wind turbine (20kW) and battery bank (12V, 24Ah). The battery will act as a backup source. The hybrid system is simulated with different residential loads. The concept of hybridization is demonstrated using simulations done in PSIM ® 9.3.4 software.
