Ultra-wideband polarization conversion metasurfaces

We propose a ultra-wideband polarization conversion metasurface composed of copper sheet-backed asymmetric V-shaped resonators. The ultra-wideband polarization convertibility is resulted from multiple resonances of the V-shaped resonators. The simulation results show that the polarization conversion ratio (PCR) is nearly 100% for both x-and y-polarized normally incident EM waves at the four resonance frequencies and a 1:3 3dB bandwidth can be achieved for both normally incident x- and y-polarized waves. The metasurface possesses the merit of ultra-wideband and thus has great application values in novel polarization-control devices.
