A family of power-factor-correction controllers

This paper presents a family or constant-switching-frequency pulse-width-modulated controllers for single-phase power-factor-correction circuits that operate at continuous-conduction-mode. Both trading-edge and leading-edge pulse-width modulation are used. These controllers do not require the multiplier and the rectified-line-voltage sensor, which are needed by traditional control methods, and can be implemented with a unified control circuit to achieve simplicity. Controller examples are analyzed and verified experimentally.
