Study on Deformation Field of Stern Shaft Mechanical Seal Based on ANSYS

Under the condition of reasonable assumptions,the force deformation and the thermal deformation of mechanical face seals are calculated by using the finite element analysis software Ansys13.0,and then it is found that the thermal deformation is the dominant factor in whole deformation.On the basis of soft and hard rules of dynamic and static ring material pairing selection,as the thermal expansion coefficient close to moving ring,the fact that the thermal deformation is the most important factor in the whole sealing deformation is concluded by contrasting the displacement curves of contact surface nodes.On the premise of ensuring the spring balancing force,we should consider how to reduce the thermal deformation of the moving ring.The influence that the face width,spring pressure and rotating speed work on the thermal deformation of seal faces is analyzed,and it is found that we should comprehensively consider the influence on deformation in optimal design of the sealing system,thus provide a theoretical basis for optimum design of stern shaft sealing.
