Sustainable pavement enable to produce electricity for road lighting using green energy

this paper investigates the ways to solve the problem of additional street lighting using innovative road-pavement for green energy production. The aim of this study is to offer innovative solution of road-pavement which enables to produce green energy for additional lighting of streets using LED technologies with acceptable monitoring. The design of sustainable road-pavement is presented in the article. Its functional capabilities and the principle of operation are described. Such roads can be considered as the alternative decentralized sources of energy, because they generate electricity not only for their own needs, but for other consumers. The estimation of generation of electric power by the system of sustainable road-pavement has been made. The section of road 7.5 m wide and 1 km long is capable of generating about ~ 1.8 MW of electricity per one day. The authors have made this research aiming also to initiate the debates in the scientific world and society about the significance of such kind of solutions for sustainable development.
