Prototype for 3D modeling through gesture analysis coupled with remote access

The introduction of Microsoft Kinect has proved to be magical for the development community. Its unique and accurate depth sensing capabilities opens up the prospects for the creation of large amounts of rich applications that utilize the real-time input from the environment. Considerable amount of progress has thus taken place in 3D processing. Despite the enormous amount of work done, there is still a need for the most basic form of 3D processing i.e. drawing. This is where our prototype comes in. It enables its users to model 3D objects in real-time using he gestures of their hands and give a visual form to their imagination and artistic skills. Also it enables users to make use of primitive objects and thus enhance created objects. Its novelty lies in the fact that it allows users to draw in 3D, in real-time, using their own hands and with minimal effort. This sort of work is not only rare as of now but also not much advancement has been made in this field. The added bonus here is that these functionalities are being created as a plugin for AutoCAD which allows us to use the many features present in it for interacting with 3D objects. Also the ability to remotely share your creations with remotely located users in real-time is a first. It opens up a gateway for collaborative interaction between users using the common platform.
