A Feedforward-cascade Strip Shape Control Method

Abstract A new global shape control method is presented for UC Rolling Mill. Self-tuning control and PID control with Smith prediction are respectively used in the inner loop and outer loop. Here feedforward compensation eliminates the coupling effects in the global shape system, while cascade control improves the control performance. The disturbance rejection capacity of the system is improved and the effects of time delay is removed by using these strategies.
