Effect of the substrate on the formation of sclerotia of Botryotinia fuckeliana (Botrytis cinerea) and on their ability to germinate carpogenically

Several media were used for producing in vitro sclerotia from 4 isolates of Botryotinia fuckeliana and to asses their influence on the ability of sclerotia to germinate carpogenically. Production of sclerotia was enhanced, in the order, by: wheat grains, Czapek-Dox agar, potato dextrose agar, Blakeslees medium, malt agar and carrot agar. The best production of apothecia was given by sclerotia formed on carrot agar, malt agar, and, at less extent, on potato dextrose agar. (…)
