The invention discloses an electric food warmer and a method thereof for automatically identifying a water state after dry burning. The electric food warmer comprises a pot body, a cover and an liner arranged in the pot body, wherein a heating device, a bottom temperature measuring device for detecting the temperature of the liner and a control device are arranged in the pot body; the control device comprises a main controller, and a counter, a temperature storage, a measurement time storage, a decision value storage, a temperature variation storage and a timer, which are connected with the main controller respectively; the output end of a temperature sensor is connected with the input end of the main controller; and the output end of the main controller is electrically connected with a heating device. Whether water adding action is performed after dry burning is judged according to the velocity of variation of the measured temperature, an alarm is given, and the electric food warmer is converted into a safety mode; and thus, a safety hazard caused by long-term dry burning is avoided, and the phenomenon that food is undercooked as the electric food warmer enters the safety mode immediately upon the detection of drying burning is eliminated. The method disclosed by the invention is simple and accurate in measurement, and is suitable for electric cookers, electric slow cookers, electric fire pots and other electric food warmer products.
