Single-Pole Adaptive Reclosure of Transmission Line Based on Arc Models and Wavelet Spectrum Energy Analysis

Based on wavelet energy spectrum analysis, the authors propose a single-pole adaptive reclosure scheme for transmission lines. On the basis of establishing primary and secondary arc models of transient fault and by use of DB6 discrete wavelet, the multi-resolution analysis on voltage signal of faulty bus is performed, and the spectrum energy of its high-frequency component within specified time window is calculated. When transient fault occurs, the spectrum energy of voltage is higher and exceeds the specified threshold during the six cycles after the tripout of circuit breaker, however these conditions are not satisfied while permanent fault occurs, thus these conditions can be taken as the criteria for fault identification. The correctness of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.
