Multiperiodic functions for surface design

Abstract We report on a surface design approach based on a “marked” polygonal domain for each object. We define multiply periodic mappings from the domain defined over the hyperbolic disc D to the surface in R 3. The mappings arise naturally from the topology and other design considerations. The method results in a single domain, global parameterization for surfaces with handles.
