IntranetWeb: a Peer-to-Peer Based Scalable Web Caching System

A performance constrained P2P Web caching system, named IntranetWeb, is presented in this paper. In the system, all the local cache of participating nodes are sharable, and peers in Intranet are searched first before remote external accesses are invoked. IntranetWeb distinguishes itself with the advantages of efficient update algorithm and novel similarity-based organization. The results of trace-driven simulations showed that dynamic configuration could improve the hit ratio and the update method could decrease false rate approximately to zero while imposing low cost on peers
