Total Optimization Offshore Oil Production Simulator Based on Discrete Event Modelling and Control Theory

Abstract A new simulator to make an integrated total simulation of an offshore oil production system has been developed to make the production and transportation plan and the cost examination of the system, prior to construction. The simulator is named SIMOP, which consists of software modules for offshore oil production well, floating structure, production facility, shipment facility, sea vessel, and land equipment considering weather condition. The integrated modelling of each module is developed by discrete event modelling method and control theory. In the paper, down time analysis of an offshore platform were successfully conducted in the North sea and the Southeast Asia sea cases.
