The Analysis of Nonlinear System Characteristics of Vibration-to-Electric Generator

Vibration-based electromagnetic power generators are a green power technology that can solve the power supply problems of distributed sensors and wireless communication systems existing in vibrational environments. A 2 DOF model with nonlinear and non-autonomous characteristics is developed as the system model of vibration-based power generators. The magnetic field is calculated using the finite-element method. System responses can be calculated on the basis of the system and output electromotive force models. Phase trajectory is used to determine the relative stability of the generator. A prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the experimental results show close agreement with the simulation data. The calculated and experimental results show that the output voltage displays harmonics due to the nonlinear system.
