Ultra wide band antenna with enhancement efficiency for high speed communications

In this paper we introduce a new configuration of UWB antenna. The proposed antenna helps in enhancing the efficiency of ultra wide-band (UWB) antenna over the bandwidth from 3-10.6GHz. The new design is based on curved and slotted T-shaped antenna with circular reflector. The designed antenna is a microstrip feeding for further integration with microwave system components. The theoretical antenna design was discussed. The antenna design was validated using the electromagnetic full wave simulations. Moreover, practical measurements are supposed to be performed for more antenna design confirmation. The results confirm that the antenna has good matching and omni radiation pattern within the frequency band 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz with an average antenna efficiency better than 82%.
