Pipe Assembly Technology in Propulsion System

As one of the important parts in the pipe assembly of a satellite propulsion system, the orbicular seal joint is related with the reliability and service life of the satellite working in orbit. Considering the particular features of the orbicular seal joint, the maximal and minimal torques are calculated. Nonlinear finite element analysis is used to build the orbicular seal joint model, and the equivalent stress distribution and the contact stress are computed by ANSYS software in the maximal and minimal load conditions. The results show that the corresponding relations between torque, seal width, contact area and average contact stress, and the reasonable torque range is determined.
