Evaluating feasibility of using Wireless Sensor Network in agricultural land through simulation of DSR, AOMDV, AODV, DSDV protocol

Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) consist of sensor nodes to collect the required data, process them and transfer it to remote base station (sink). Energy consumption is one of the most important issues in wireless sensor network due to deployed irreplaceable nodes. This leads to a major challenge in design of energy efficient routing protocols in wireless sensor network. In this work four routing protocols with MAC 802.11 are evaluated to analyze the feasibility of using wireless sensor network in an agricultural land. The optimal routing protocol is found out by evaluating the performance of the network with several parameters. We have simulated using NS-2.34. It is found through simulation results that DSR is better suitable routing protocol for the agricultural application.
