Design of a new controller for induction motors based on exact linearization

A novel approach to the design of a novel high-performance controller of induction motors based on exact linearization is proposed. A condition is derived for the linearizability for a class of nonlinear systems with disturbances. Based on the linearizability, a linearizing controller for induction motors is derived. The authors propose a method of designing servo controllers so as to assure that the state is always within the region where the linearizability holds. The proposed method decouples the motor flux and torque completely. It is shown that the performance of the proposed controller is superior to that of the field-oriented control (or vector control) method.<<ETX>>
