The impact of repeaters on CDMA system performance

In mobile communication systems, due to practical frequency wave propagation, there are zones in the selected area, where signal coverage is not adequately accomplished by the base-station. These dead spots are valleys, tunnels on highways and railway tracks. Repeaters are typically viewed as a solution to this problem. We examine repeaters from a slightly different perspective, investigating how, when used in a flat terrain environment they not only extend signal coverage, but impact system performance as well.
