Study on Mechanical Properties of Railway Sub-grade Improved by P.P.T Reagent

As the train speed-up and heavy load develop, the requirements of stability and load capacity of sub-grade must be up-graded. A new material for improving the mechanical properties of sub-grade, namely permanent polymer for traffic (PPT) is introduced. By calculation and contrast analysis of the soil before and after covered with PPT, it is found that the stability of the slope is effectively up-graded even the covered layer is not so thick, while the load capacity of sub-grade is significantly raised. Comparing with traditional lime soil, P.P.T improvement shows even better in preventing other common sub-grade hazards. Practical engineering application demonstrates that PPT is valuable to be used more widely.
