Multi-Modal Learning and Assessment in Second Life with quizHUD

In this paper, the early development and preliminary evaluation is presented of a new approach for delivering educational material, administering assessment, and gathering survey data, within the Second Life virtual world. The 'quizHUD' is part of the SLOODLE project, and is designed to encourage an exploratory attitude to learning, while administering assessment using a mixture of multiple choice and environment interaction questions.
