An Algorithm for the HICLAS-R Model

The HICLAS-R model is a model for two-way two-mode rating data, that includes a hierarchical classification of the elements of each mode and a linking structure among the two hierarchies. In this paper, we present an algorithm for fitting HICLAS-R models, based on a recoding of the two-way two-mode rating data into three-way three-mode binary data. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated in an extensive simulation study.
