An Improved Semi-blind Detection Algorithm for NR PUCCH

In New Radio (NR) Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH), the receiver is required to perform Discontinuous Transmission (DTX) detection except demodulation in some formats transmitting little Uplink Control Information (UCI) bits. In Long Term Evolution (LTE), conventional receiver detection algorithm is to utilize the energy of estimated channel based on reference signals (RS), or introduces data symbol to improve the estimation. Though the estimation is more accurate, the information of channel and other resources are not fully utilized. This paper gives an improved algorithm on the detection of PUCCH. The procedure description and theoretical analysis are done for this algorithm. Simulation results on NR PUCCH format 1& 2 show that the performances of DTX detection and demodulation are better when applying the improved semi-blind algorithm.
