Heterodyne Phase Locked Loops - Revisited

A heterodyne phase locked loop has been studied in detail with particular emphasis on the spurious mode of locking called False Locking. A simple method of eliminating the annoying effect of spurious locking has been suggested. Experimental results have been presented in support of the conclusions.
