PAPR reduction in optical OFDM systems via linear transformation and adaptive companding

In optical OFDM systems,because of the non-linear of the modulator,D/A conversion devices,power amplifiers and optical fiber,the signal having a larger PAPR will greatly reduce the efficiency of the system.In order to contain the PAPR in Optical OFDM systems,a method of combination of linear transformation and adaptive companding is presented.The simulation results show that the method can not only reduce the PAPR,but also have less affection to the bit error rate(BER) of the system.
