Pollination at 2.00 PM gave higher fruit set percentage (78.84%), number of fruit developed to maturity (20.70) and fruit developed to maturity percentage (85.51%). The number offilled seeds per fruit (505.73), 100 seed weight (15.72 g), seed yield per fruit (79.53 g) were significantly higher when the pollination was effective at 2.00 PM. The number of unfilled seeds per fruit (41.48) were lower when the pollination took place at 2.00 PM as compared to pollination that at 12.00 noon, 4.00 PM and 6.00 PM. The seed quality parameters i.e., germination percentage (98.03%), seedling length (32.36 cm), seedling dry weight (0.4108 g), seedling vigour index-I (3172.48) and seedling vigour index-II (40.26) were significantly superior due to the pollination time at 2.00 PM.
