최적 열/물관리를 위한 고분자 전해질 연료전지의 냉각 유로 설계 및 작동 조건에 관한 연구

In a typical operation of a PEFC stack, the cooling system must be able to keep the stack temperature within a proper range to achieve high efficiency and avoid any damage of the core components of fuel cells under various physical conditions including temperature and humidity. In this study, comprehensive threedimensional modeling for a single cell including coolant sections on the far-outer sides is first introduced for in-depth analysis of the heat and mass transport phenomena by temperature, fuel/oxidant utilization and humidity for the heat and water management. It is also applied to evaluate the representation of temperature variation (RTV) of PEFC stack due to the cooling passage pattern, material and operating temperature of direct stack cooing system. The outcome of the present study can be greatly applied to develop advanced heat and water management strategy and improve the long-term PEFC performance.
