Numerical Vibro-acoustic Modelling Of Aircraft For The Active Acoustic Control Of Interior Noise

Abstract Within the framework of the European program Asanca (Advanced Study for Active Noise Control in Aircraft), propeller-powered and jet-powered aircraft were the objects of simple modellings in order to test the attenuation that can be achieved according to the number of secondary acoustic sources used. The ways in which the calculations were carried out for each type of aircraft (propeller-driven ATR 42, jet-driven Fokker 100) are shown with their results and the graphs of the attenuations. Then one of the numerical models is compared to measurements. The calculated maps obtained of the acoustic pressure inside the cabin can be made to resemble the measured maps, provided that some parameters of the model are suitably adjusted. The structural boundary conditions of the fuselage and the acoustic admittance on the wall of the cabin appear to be of great importance for the type of model made.
