1,234,740. Capacitors. P. R. MALLORY & CO. Inc. 24 Feb., 1969 [6 March, 1968], No. 9826/69. Heading H1M. A feed through capacitance device comprises a plurality of cathode and anode plates, each plate having at least one input tab and at least one output tab. The device shown comprises anode plates 13 bearing an anodically formed oxide layer thereon and separated from cathode plates 12 by liquid electrolyte impregnated paper or like porous material 19, the outer plates both being cathode plates. As shown, each plate has a plurality of integral output tabs 14, 16 spaced apart such that the cathode tabs 14 are aligned with the spaces between anode tabs 16 and vice versa. The various tabs are welded together as at 15 and 17, the cathode tabs connecting with conductor 27 and anode tabs with conductor 28 on terminal 25 these conductors are separated by insulation 26. Each plate has one input tab extending over slightly less than half the plate width (Fig. 3, not shown), and connected to terminal 25 1 . The tabs may be encased in resilient material 18 and the assembly is compressed together by pressure plates, e.g. 30, and pressure means 31. The assembly is encased in moulded housing 11. The electrolyte employed preferably has a resistance of less than 500 ohm/cm.
