We arestudying arobot vision system that hassleep andwakefunctions. Ourproposed mathematical Activation-Input-Modulation (AIM)model, that canexpress consciousness states suchaswaking orsleep, controls aratio between external andinternal information processing, runinparallel, basedondegrees ofstimuli obtained byexternal sensors. Inawakemode, theexternal information obtained byexternal sensors ismainly processed. Inasleep mode, theinternal information stored inamemoryismainly processed. Thepurpose ofthis paper istodesign anewmemory architecture like ahuman's brain andbuild anintelligent robot vision system that canstore environmental information in its memories efficiently. Thememoryarchitecture consists offollowing three kinds ofmemories like humanbeings. One isaworking memoryforstoring visual information forafewseconds. Another isashort-term memoryforstoring infor- mation stimulated byanexternal sensor temporarily. Thethird isalong-term memoryforstoring important information permanently. Operations ofthese storing processes, whichruninparallel,
