Proceedings of the 6th international conference industry session on Autonomic computing and communications industry session

We are pleased to welcome you to the Industry Session of the 6th International Conference on Autonomic Computing and Communications -- ICAC-09. The purpose of ICAC-09 is to bring together researchers and practitioners addressing aspects of self-management in computing systems. This year, the Industry Session offers a special focus on the perspective of researchers and practitioners in the corporate environment. A singular value of ICAC is the confluence of top researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry. The ICAC-09 Industry Session offers a readout of various technologies currently in play from product perspectives. Among the areas addressed are core enablers for autonomic capabilities to be realized, such as frameworks, protocols and autonomic engines in production systems. The Industry Session also addresses current areas of difficulty that present direct opportunities for both academic and corporate research. Topics are relevant to entrepreneurs, product developers, architects, managers, marketers and end users, as well as those in academia. The selection process for the General Sessions of ICAC-09 was extremely competitive this year and the program committee accepted fewer than 16% of the papers (15 of 96 submissions). From the submissions, we were able to accept an additional 4 full papers and 1 short paper for the Industry Session. Moreover, the Industry Session also offers the opportunity for 17 selected short papers (posters) to be presented in a series of "lightning talks". These proceedings of the Industry Session present the four full papers and one short paper; the remaining short papers (posters) can be found in the general ICAC-09 proceedings.
