Fast synchronisation of chaotic maps for secure chaotic communications

A method of designing nonlinear control laws for the synchronisation of chaotic map master–slave systems is proposed. The general approach to master–slave chaotic map synchronisation is demonstrated on the one-dimensional (ℜ1) cubic map master–slave system. It is shown that it is always possible to achieve instant synchronisation within a single iteration of the master–slave system. The method of implementing the synchronised master–slave system within a chaotic parameter modulation based communication system is then proposed and demonstrated on the cubic map. Such a methodology and implementation holds promise in fast secure chaotic communications that require instant synchronisation schemes.
