3-Dimensional soft shape sensor based on dual-layer orthogonal fiber Bragg grating mesh

We present a soft silicone shape sensor for 3D surface shape measurement. The sensor is based on dual-layer fiber Bragg grating arrays with orthogonal mesh structure, which enable 3D bi-directional shape sensing.
