Acquisition of CSTR’s Temperature Data in Mobile Phone using Wi-Fi

In process industries, the Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) is mainly used to produce final products by maintaining the temperature at the required range. This is not that much easy to maintain, because of its nonlinear behaviour. The operator can't monitor the CSTR’s performance in that place regularly. To resolve this problem the data communication concepts, get into it. Some industries are using traditional communication networks like RS485, RS232, etc. But the distance of data transfer is limited to very short in these methods. In this work, a remote I/O data acquisition system using UDP is suggested. The Arduino controller is used for efficient data acquisition and monitoring. The RTD sensors are fixed inside the bath of CSTR to measure the temperature. The transmitter node of UDP acquires RTD data and then processes it. Further, the data is transmitted to the receiver node of the mobile’s UDP. Finally, the CSTR’s temperature is acquired periodically in the mobile and the received data is shown graphically. The acquired data in mobile is cross verified with sensor data. The data transmission through UDP is evaluated by the time taken and accuracy.
