It is an important basis for the reservoir evaluation and well logging interpretation to accurately determine the electrical properties of the underground formation. A variety of empirical models for determining the effective electrical properties of mixture has been proposed, yet few have quantitatively studied the effect of inclusion microgeometry and applied to the real problem practically. This paper proposed a geometric-factor-revised dielectric model for accurately predicting the effective permittivity of three-phase underground formation. The microstructure effect is taking account into the effective electrical models by using the numerical computation method with COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software, and the microstructure effect is formulated as geometric factors to revise an analytical mixing formula. Simulation results shows that the revised formula is able to capture the influence of various inclusion geometries and provide an important reference for determining the electrical characteristics of mixture in the field applications.
