3-Bar Simulation-Transfer Matrix Method for Shear Lag Analysis

Abstract A 3-bar simulation-transfer matrix method for shear lag analysis is put forward, in which the influence of section size on internal forces and stress are taken into consideration. The inner force, stress of thin-walled box girder considering the shear lag effects are recursively calculated. The numerical calculation results are compared with those from the ANSYS program, which verifies the accuracy and efficiency of the method for shear lag analysis given in this paper.
