INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR PERSONAL TRIP

This paper describes a personal trip information system, implemented on a lap top type personal computer. The basic function is to display the current position of the user. The system provides two modes: pedestrian and public transportation. In the pedestrian mode, the current position is calculated using the estimated walking speed and user's interaction at intersections. In the public transportation mode, time tables and current time is used to predict the position on the route of each transportation system.
