SIMULATION OF FLUCTUATING WIND VELOCITY TIME SERIES AROUND SUPER-TALL BUILDINGS

The main objective of the paper is to simulate the fluctuating wind velocity time series around super-tall buildings with resorting to the spectral representation method(SRM). Considering both the time and space correlativity of the wind velocity time series around super-tall buildings, the explicit expressions for the SRM- fast Fourier transform (FFT) were derived with a view to simulating the five different points wind velocity fluctuations at different height of super-tal buildings. Likewise, it was pointed that the chosen coefficients need to correspond respectively to the one-sided or two-sided spectral density functions. Subsequently, the simulation of the wind velocity time histories around a super-building with 200 m height was carried out based on the explicit expressions of the SRM-FFT. Comparing the simulated values of auto-correlation and cross-correlation functions with the corresponding targets, the feasibility is then correoborated of simulating the fluctuating wind velocity time series at arbitrary different heights of super-tall buildings by using the SRM-FFT.
