An impulse noise cancellation using iterative algorithms

OFDM is recently widely using many wireless and wire line communication systems. Addition of impulse noise limits communication performance in certain OFDM systems. Impulse noise immunity comes from extended symbol duration, since the impulse noise is usually of very short duration compared to symbol duration in parallel transmission. Impulse noise affects all the sub carriers in a symbol due to the Fast Fourier Transform operations at the receiver. The approach is used here for the correction of impulse noise include novel iterative impulse error correction scheme using two different algorithms, impulse noise location and value search algorithms, is based on the crucial observation of the relationship of the impulse noise to the characterization of the impulse noise to the characterization of symbol constellation plot. And impulse noise is considered as a different type of noise in terms of space and magnitude as opposed to the AWGN noise. A 512-point OFDM system with qam-4 or qam-8 modulation is considered.
